Training Programs
Puppy Social
Puppies need the opportunity to interact with other dogs as part of their exposure to the world we live in. When puppies are socialized early they tend to be more relaxed around other dogs. The ideal age for dog-to-dog socialization is 12 to 18 weeks. However, the primary reason for puppies to play with other puppies is to develop bite inhibition. Puppies learn how to use their mouths by playing with and “biting” other dogs. Good bite inhibition does not guarantee your dog will not bite, but it does mean the likelihood of a severe bite is minimal. Good bite inhibition is a crucial component of creating a trustworthy canine companion. *Puppies must be between 11 to 15 weeks of age with at least 2 rounds of vaccinations.

Puppy Kindergarten
This is our introduction to obedience for dogs up to six months of age. The goal of this class is to teach owners and their dogs how to communicate with each other. We use positive reinforcement training techniques to identify and strengthen desired behaviors. Participants will learn fundamental obedience commands such as sit, stay, down, come and loose-leash walking. Creating a foundation for your dog’s learning that will last them a lifetime.

Cost: $28.50 per class or $176.50 for 8 classes
Beyond Puppy
This class is designed for dogs six months and older with little or no formal training. If you participated in an obedience class but your dog still has problems following simple commands when distracted, this is the class for you. We review all of the basic obedience skills and practice them in real-life situations, teach your dog how to meet strangers, sit for pets and walk nicely through a group of people.

Cost: $30.50 per class or $176.50 for 8 classes
Pool Party
Pool Party allows owners and their dog(s) access to the pool with a trainer present; this is so their dog can swim freely or be introduced to the pool. Any swim level is welcome.
Large dogs swim at 12pm. Small dogs swim at 12:45pm.
Dog needs to have completed a daycare first day evaluation due to the social experience and must be up to date on all vaccines.
Drop-ins welcome; no reservation required.

Meet Our Trainer, Michael
Originally from Long Island, New York, Michael Rawleigh brings his drive, enthusiasm, and passion for dogs to Pawprints of Vero Beach.
Michael believes that training is about more than teaching commands—it’s about building trust, strengthening the bond between dogs and their people, and helping dogs become confident learners. His positive-reward training style focuses on making learning fun and creating positive experiences for every dog he works with.
Having experience with dogs ranging from a Pit Mix to a Poodle, Michael enjoys working with dogs of all sizes and breeds. He especially loves helping dogs learn new skills, gain confidence, and experience new things in a positive way.
For Michael, seeing a dog learn and grow is the greatest reward. He is also committed to continually advancing his own skills and knowledge, always looking for opportunities to learn from experienced trainers and the best professionals in the field.
Michael is excited to build new relationships with the dogs and families of Pawprints and looks forward to learning and growing alongside them.
